Crispy Herb & Lemon BBQ Cauliflower

Crispy roasted cauliflower gets a bright, tangy twist in this recipe thanks to New York Shuk Preserved Lemon BBQ Sauce, included in the BBQ Lover's Box. The florets are coated in a crunchy panko crust, baked or air-fried to golden perfection, then tossed in the bold, citrusy BBQ sauce. Finished with fresh cilantro and parsley, this dish is a flavorful, veggie-forward way to enjoy a BBQ classic with a zesty, Middle Eastern-inspired kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 tbsp Kosterina Greek Herb and Lemon Olive Oil (or EVOO)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup New York Shuk Preserved Lemon BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Oven-Baked Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss cauliflower florets with olive oil.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, panko, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Toss the cauliflower in the breadcrumb mixture until coated evenly.
  5. Arrange florets on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from oven and toss with preserved lemon BBQ sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and parsley just before serving.
  9. Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side.

Air Fryer Option

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Follow steps 2–4 above.
  3. Place cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed).
  4. Cook 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until crispy and golden.
  5. Toss with preserved lemon BBQ sauce, then finish with cilantro and parsley.
  6. Serve hot with extra sauce.

  • Use fresh cauliflower for this recipe. Frozen cauliflower will not crisp up as well due to extra moisture.
